Here’s a tip for moms that will save a few pennies. (Can’t we all use a few extra pennies about now?)
I hate spending money on coloring books. The kids rush though each page, tear it out to show someone, then it ends up on the floor and eventually in the trash. Seems like such a [...]

My idea for Works-For-Me-Wednesday this week isn’t super original, but I can’t remember where I first got the idea, so I’m passing it along.
Ever reach a point where the stuff in your house seems to be closing in on you and the clutter is growing faster than your family (which, in my house, is lightning [...]

We eat “breakfast for dinner” a lot around here. Omelettes and pancakes are among our favorites. Omelettes offer a lot of variety, but when you have a kid that’s allergic to dairy, the pancakes can be a bit tricky.
Until now!
A few weeks ago, I made pancakes and ingenuity struck me. Why not use orange juice [...]

Here’s another pathetic attempt to give you a great idea for Works-for-Me Wednesday.
I’ve needed a wide-mouth funnel for quite some time. I priced one in a fancy kitchen gadget and, though it was stainless steel, it was $25! Personally, I think that’s a bit outrageous for what it is.
Recently, I was at a local big [...]

It’s time for the weekly Works-for-Me Wednesday, but this week’s has a theme: The Backwards Edition. “Flip things around and post your dilemma–and let your readers give their best solution!”
Thankfully, right now, we have no major dilemmas going on, so I’ve got a fun question. Here you go:
We’re looking to give our homeschool an official [...]

Our house is fairly small, but our family and dogs are not.
We have two… dogs, that is, not families.
The first is a police canine German Shepherd and the other is a Boxweiler. (That’s a cross between a Boxer and a Rottweiler, for all of you out of the loop.) The point is that our dogs, [...]

This week my Works-for-Me Wednesday tip is pretty simple.
Our wonderful “Aunt Sandy” gave us this idea. Instead of spraying down your little ones with chemicals and ingredients you can’t pronounce, use Listerine!
Seriously. I poured some into a squirt bottle and I dowse my kids before they go outside to play.
Not only is it less scary to [...]

This week’s Works-For-Me Wednesday is a themed edition: Five Ingredients Or Less! Shannon says, “Offer up your simplest recipes and link back up here on Wednesday.” I thought about stealing my sister-in-law’s chicken parmesean recipe – or her one for enchiladas – and putting it up here, but she should get the credit. Maybe she’ll post one [...]

Somedays my brain lacks major creativity… maybe it’s because all the creative juices in my body have gone into my graphic design projects? At any rate, today is one of those days. I do, however, have a simple Works-for-Me-Wednesday idea to share.
This tip is for those of you with small children!
Since we have five kids, [...]

This week, Shannon over at Rocks in My Dryer is asking us to post Works-for-Me Wednesday ideas along the boredom-busting theme. She says, “What are your best tips for helping the kids engaged and busy and happy over the summer? ” So, here goes.
I have a jar that sits in my kitchen that I call the Chore [...]
