It seems summer may have finally arrived — though I’m cautious about saying that too soon. It’s supposed to rain and cool down this weekend!
My kids have been enjoying playing outside much more. I’ve enjoyed giving them the extra space to run and just be kids! The other day, they played until it was pretty [...]

Today was opening day for our baseball league. I think Nate and I were just as excited as the kids!
For Connor, it was his first ever game! Isn’t he adorable?
I happen to think his coach is pretty hot, too!
Andy and Brady somehow eluded my camera (perhaps because I was busy with team Mom business!), but [...]

We’re on spring break here. No school for a week. I’m relishing the sunshine. Enjoying relaxed time with the kiddos and sometimes the husband.
Until “Son X” decided to jump into his baby brother’ crib… and break it. Grrrr…
I feel like we’re continually looking for some major piece of furniture or an appliance. Sigh…
Thankfully baseball season [...]

If Friday was Good Friday and we celebrated the resurrection of Christ yesterday, then surely today should be better than good! Today is now called Amazing Monday in my book!
We read through the Easter story from the Bible with the kids last night. We used the Resurrection Eggs and they had turns opening each [...]

We love the library. What homeschooling mom doesn’t love a chance to read free books?!
But, oh, how I hate that the library eventually wants their books back!
I’m kidding. Sort of.
We had a family trip to the library awhile back. We checked out a stack of books. About 25, I think.
When we went to return them, [...]

My oldest boys are intrigued by mascots. They think it’s so cool to learn the names of college teams, high school teams, professional teams, etc.
They were recently asking me what my school mascot and colors were. “What were you in college?”
“We were the Tigers! Our colors were black and gold.”
“What about high school?” they wanted [...]

These are important days around here! Yesterday was a day of mini-milestones. I love watching my children learn new things… and I don’t just mean at the homeschool table.
We had small successes all around yesterday. Ferris pottied in the toilet! We haven’t officially started potty-training, but when she asks, I let her sit there. She [...]

The weather is finally above freezing here in Chicagoland! I love it when it warms up.
Today, as we finished school, I sent the 5 oldest kiddies out to play. When I looked out the window a few minutes later, this warmed my heart even more:
I didn’t even ask Andy and Brady to swing with their [...]

My “big boys” were having a tough go at it the other day. I was in the mood to get some real cleaning done and was trying to get them on board with the idea. Instead, they fussed. That’s not allowed!
I was standing at the kitchen sink, washing dishes (which is where I am most [...]

The only thing cooler than having your Dad show up at the playground to play with you in his squad car is when he pushes you, your brothers and sisters, and half the neighborhood of kids really, really fast on the merry-go-round.
So fast that your brother flies off.
He’s that cool.
Yesterday, we visited a “new” playground. [...]
