Isn’t everyone sort of in recovery mode? We sure are.
I desperately want to remove the enormous tree from our living room, but the box we store it in is too large for me to lug up from the basement alone and Nate’s flying again today. I’m trying to find homes for all the kids’ new [...]

Remember the days of playing wiffle ball in the backyard? (At least that’s what we did in my neighborhood when I was a kid.) I really miss one particular thing about that:
Don’t you wish you could leave a spot / job / responsibility and move on to the next by just shouting, “Ghostman!!”??
I’d give anything [...]

Things have been chaotic around here… well, more than usual.
My handsome husband celebrates the big 3-1 Wednesday, so we had a pseudo surprise party for him yesterday. Our two oldest boys, Andy and Brady got baptized at church yesterday, too. It was definitely a special day.
To prepare for company, I spent much of [...]

My idea for Works-For-Me-Wednesday this week isn’t super original, but I can’t remember where I first got the idea, so I’m passing it along.
Ever reach a point where the stuff in your house seems to be closing in on you and the clutter is growing faster than your family (which, in my house, is lightning [...]

Today should be a simple, laid-back Saturday for me.
But it’s not.
I have no deadline. No graphic design clients awaiting their projects today. No T-ball games. No meetings with Pastors. No helicopter rides scheduled (for me). No schoolwork to do with the kids.
Just laundry.
And packing FOR SEVEN PEOPLE FOR SEVEN DAYS.
{We’ll be gone next week… I’ve [...]

Now that my kids are getting old enough to articulate things better (you know, actual sentences,) I’m enjoying understanding them a bit better. I mean that I like knowing what makes them tick.
In the past few weeks, they’ve cheered for me on a few occasions. They’ve even told me once I was their hero! Here [...]

Nate had some rare time off this morning, so I made donut holes for the whole gang.
Don’t act all surprised… It was super easy. They turned out to be delicious, too. Not all that healthy really, but yummy in moderation. I’ll post the recipe below.
Connor was the first to try one and he immediately loved [...]

Here’s another pathetic attempt to give you a great idea for Works-for-Me Wednesday.
I’ve needed a wide-mouth funnel for quite some time. I priced one in a fancy kitchen gadget and, though it was stainless steel, it was $25! Personally, I think that’s a bit outrageous for what it is.
Recently, I was at a local big [...]

Our house is fairly small, but our family and dogs are not.
We have two… dogs, that is, not families.
The first is a police canine German Shepherd and the other is a Boxweiler. (That’s a cross between a Boxer and a Rottweiler, for all of you out of the loop.) The point is that our dogs, [...]

Why isn’t there a Mommy Olympics?
You know, with relays like the 4×100 quadruplet diaper change? The triathlon of making dinner, extracting the popcorn kernel from your toddlers nose, and bouncing the colic-y baby one your hip? I’d surely be a contender for the decathlon of juggling too many projects and so many kids all at [...]
