Andy and Brady’s coach’s wife is the league photographer… She did a GREAT job capturing so many cool moments of the day. She definitely got some better shots than I did… including some of Andy and Brady!
This is the majority of Andy and Brady’s team with two of their coaches (Nate’s the third, but he [...]

I have to head off to a baseball board meeting soon, so I don’t have time to give you the full recap, but I will say this:
We had a GREAT, AMAZING, WONDERFUL time at Wrigley Field on Sunday.
We ended up riding the South Shore train into the city, then catching the Red Line portion of [...]

Rowdy. Rambunctious. Ravenous…
That’s my Brady.
The boy is on a kick where he goes and goes and goes… then is STARVING. He eats and eats and eats. And then eats.
We’re in trouble in about 8 years.
Yesterday, he aced a math test. He even got one problem correct that the teacher’s guide had wrong! The [...]

We’re thrilled. Baseball season is here again. My boys had their first practice last night!!
Connor’s giddy that his Dad is his coach… Andy and Brady are also giddy, because Nate is their assistant.
They were so hyper yesterday that they used a lot of energy before practice. By the time we got home after [...]

I just heard Brady scream… so I went to investigate.
By the time I got to him, it was more of a squeal. Part amusement, part disgust, part delight.
Andy had his arms wrapped around Brady from behind. He was chanting, “I’m going to hug you… FOOOOOOREEEEEEVVVEEEEERRRRR.”
Someday they’ll realize how “uncool” that is, but for now, I [...]

The weather outside today is simply gorgeous! I couldn’t pass up this opportunity, so I surprised the kids by squeezing in a trip to the park, somewhere between lunch and nap time. Seemed like the perfect plan to take advantage of 74 degrees and sunny. Plus, the public school kids were still being held prisoner [...]

Since I’m the player agent for my boys’ baseball league, I get to be among the first to know the team assignments. My kids are giddy to “finally” know which teams they’re on this year.
Nate and Connor will be birds this year, orange and black ones! They’ll be on the Orioles T-Ball team. Connor, who [...]

These are important days around here! Yesterday was a day of mini-milestones. I love watching my children learn new things… and I don’t just mean at the homeschool table.
We had small successes all around yesterday. Ferris pottied in the toilet! We haven’t officially started potty-training, but when she asks, I let her sit there. She [...]

Brady turned SIX on Saturday. Where has the time gone?!
As you may remember, we started a new tradition last year of allowing the kids to choose a special outing for their birthdays instead of a gift. Because there are a few of us and usually a newborn, big family activities are few and [...]

My boy Andy is getting to be an old man. He turned 7 yesterday!
As our firstborn, he’s mature for his age. He takes responsibility in stride and rarely complains about his role as the example setter.
As I tucked him into bed on Wednesday night, I kissed him and then hugged his long, lanky body. Then I [...]
