Put Me In, Coach

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

The baseball league our boys play for requires the boys participate in the fund raiser. They sell raffle tickets. Nate and I neither one are fond of begging our friends, family and co-workers to help pay for our kids entertainment, so we “bought” all 50 tickets last year and put our names on them.
First prize [...]

Nothing to It

You all know how much I love baseball. Well, you’ve got to see this:

Just makes me smile on this rainy day!

Pinstripes and Numbers

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

As part of Brady’s first grade school work, I dictate a series of numbers to him and he has to write them down. This way, we can be sure he’s understanding place value and such.
Monday, I dictated some to him and he was mumbling something in reply. I finally figured out what he was doing. [...]

Uddering Jeers

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

You know how much we love baseball around here. I’ve blogged about it countless times before. (After all, it has its own category on my blog!) I love the lessons it teaches my children… about winning and losing and being good sports and taking the good with the bad and patience, etc., etc., etc.
Last night, [...]

Nothing Beats Fun at the Ol’ Ballpark

Friday, July 17th, 2009

It’s over.
Another T-ball season, come and gone. We’re sad. Seriously, I hate to see it end. Tuesday night was the last game of the season, and it makes us all sad.
Next year, Andy will play rookies, Brady will be in his second season of T-ball, and Connor will play Junior T-ball. Grayson will watch from [...]

Good to know

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

I’m trying to ease back into my world of blogging and graphic design. Somehow, caring for the children, washing the dishes, and doing the laundry have taken precedence. I’m sure you understand.
Here’s a glimpse into what I’ve been enjoying the past couple of weeks:
Andy and Brady were knelt on either side of Grayson, [...]

One-Two Punch!

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

It happened again.
We brought home the game ball after last night’s T-ball game! This time, Andy was the recipient!
I had so much fun watching their games last year, but this year is so much better because Andy and Brady are on the same team. They’ve spent most of the gametime playing 1st and [...]

Superstar at Second!

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

I know I’ve been a slacker with my blogging lately. I could give you a whole list of pregnancy-related symptoms, not the least of which is a blood vessel that actually burst in my leg yesterday and has caused tremendous pain, but I’d be digressing.
My real reason for this post is this: My Brady Boy [...]

Achievement!

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

We finished our first year of homeschooling yesterday!
Actually, we started in September, and just finished TWO YEARS worth of curriculum. Crazy, huh? Andy started last fall in Kindergarten, and Brady began doing pre-school stuff. Yesterday, Andy completed first grade and Brady finished Kindergarten! What’s more is that they both got straight A’s!
We headed off to [...]

It Might Be T-ball Season if…

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

You know it’s T-ball season around your house if your children rush through their school work, scarf down lunch and actually _ask_ if they can take a nap “so I’ll have enough energy for practice…” all at half-past noon.
Seriously.
They actually fell asleep (which amazed me) and were awake by 2:30, dying to put their cleats [...]
