The Friendly Confines
I have to head off to a baseball board meeting soon, so I don’t have time to give you the full recap, but I will say this:
We had a GREAT, AMAZING, WONDERFUL time at Wrigley Field on Sunday.
We ended up riding the South Shore train into the city, then catching the Red Line portion of the “L” to get to the ballpark. That in and of itself was super fun! We’ll be doing that again sometime soon… maybe for a trip to the zoo or something!
Here’s my guys waiting at the train station. Bet you can’t guess where our allegiance is!
If you’ve never been to Wrigley Field, you really should go. I’m not at all kidding when I say the Cubs have the best fans in the world. They’ll bend over backwards to let you get by with a whole crew of kids, just because you’re a Cubs fan, too. They’re friendly and outgoing!
My boys DID get to end up running the bases after the game, and I, too, got to step foot on the actual field. I considered taking my shoes off beforehand, but thought that might be going a bit too far. I also considered taking an handful of dirt, too, but decided I’d better not.
One of my all-time favorite players, Mark Grace, (second only to Ryne Sandberg) sang “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” in the middle of the 7th inning, so I was giddy! To top it all off, the Cubs won 10-5! Brady’s favorite player even hit two homers!! Woo-Hoo!
More pics soon, I promise!
