Amazing Monday!
If Friday was Good Friday and we celebrated the resurrection of Christ yesterday, then surely today should be better than good! Today is now called Amazing Monday in my book!
We read through the Easter story from the Bible with the kids last night. We used the Resurrection Eggs and they had turns opening each to see what was inside. It’s something they look forward to every year, and it’s fun for Nate and me to see how much of the story they remember from year to year.
This year had a few interesting highlights:
Evan got to open the pink egg, which contained silver coins, representing the 30 pieces of silver Judas used to betray Jesus. When she opened it, Nate asked her, “Why is the money important, Evan?”
She smiled, like she knew the answer. “To buy baseball stuff!!”
We hid our snickers and kept going.
The last egg is empty! It’s our favorite because it symbolizes the empty tomb and the fact that Jesus is no longer dead. Connor got to open it this year, but must not have remembered it from before.
“Connor,” Nate said, “why is that egg empty?”
“Because Brady forgot to put it back.”
Always passing the blame around here. We’re working on it!
We’re so thankful for the empty egg / tomb and the new life it has given each of us. We’re blessed beyond compare!
I know these photos are less than stellar,
but we didn’t have time to take pictures
at home before our Easter SONrise service.
Happy Amazing Monday to you all.

Oh Christa, I must tell you that these stories are better than a joke book. I love all the pictures and the kids comments especially “just don’t look”. I’ll be telling that one to others to enjoy. Thank you.
