Bee You Tea Full!

The weather outside today is simply gorgeous! I couldn’t pass up this opportunity, so I surprised the kids by squeezing in a trip to the park, somewhere between lunch and nap time. Seemed like the perfect plan to take advantage of 74 degrees and sunny. Plus, the public school kids were still being held prisoner in their schools, so I knew we’d probably have the place to ourselves. I was right!

We went to my favorite park. It sits far back off the road and has one main playground section, and a second part full of swings. The entire thing is encompassed with a walking trail, too, which makes a good track for the boys to race. (By the way, Brady challenged me to a race today and I stomped him. I was feeling all proud of myself until I remembered he is only 6.)

Anyway, thought you’d enjoy a few pics of the little ones:

As much as he loves his swing at home, he wasn’t as sure about this big one. He felt a little insecure… not to mention it was windy enough to knock him down!

Ferris just loves being outside. In this photo, she was playing peek-a-boo with some dogs being walked nearby. She wasn’t at all concerned that they weren’t interested in responding.

OK… Now, step back in time with me just a bit. Remember this?

This one was taken at the same playground in August of 2008.
Ferris was just five months old!

This one was taken today!

A couple of things to note about today’s photo… (1) Grayson wasn’t too sure about Andy holding him up so high. He really does have average-sized legs, but has them pulled up close to him, so they don’t look normal.  (2) Brady recently lost his front tooth. (3) This may be the only time you’ll ever see Evan sitting still. (4) It was windy. Really windy! Which may have contributed to Grayson looking so painfully uncomfortable. He really is cute.

Hope you’re all having nice weather, too!

And just because I know my mom will want it, here’s the above photo in color. Just for you, Nana!

The kids are gorgeous, and look like they’re having fun despite the wind.

How’d you find such an awesome play structure. Makes me want to bring my 9 out to come and visit, as it’s the PERFECT setting for a kids group picture!

Now I’m jealous … of the weather AND of the play structure. I’m stuck in a cube staring at pictures!

You read my mind, I was just thinking, gee I wish it was in color.

I was beginning to think your camera was broken.

    Thanks for the picture.

Mom, These photos were taken with my phone. :) Our camera is not broken, though. I just never remember to take it!

Heather, Gray is getting roly poly! He’s starting to develop a goofy personality, too. Perfect fit for our family, don’t you think?

Goofdad, We’re blessed to live in an area with LOTS of small parks. I’m guessing we could go to a different one every day for a month and never have to travel more than 20 miles. It’s awesome! You’re right, though… Those tires do make a perfect photo spot for a stair-step family, don’t you think?
