Mascot Wows!

My oldest boys are intrigued by mascots. They think it’s so cool to learn the names of college teams, high school teams, professional teams, etc.

They were recently asking me what my school mascot and colors were. “What were you in college?”

“We were the Tigers! Our colors were black and gold.”

“What about high school?” they wanted to know.

“We were the Tigers! Our colors were black and gold.”

“Really,” they giggled. “What about before that.

“In middle school? We were the Tigers! Our colors were black and gold.” I guess I was narrow-minded. ;)

Today they realized that my elementary school might have had a different mascot, so they asked.

“We were green and white. We were the Shamrocks!” (So fierce, right?)

“The Shamrocks?” asked Brady.

“Yeah,” said Connor. “Kind of like the Sham-Wows!!”

Um, well, sort of… Except less absorbant. And minus the annoying pitch-man. :)

Hahahaha! That is funny. And guess what Aunt Heather’s high school mascot was….? Drumroll, please. The Tigers!!! Only we were orange and black. In Jr. High I played for the Panthers (Black and Red). Aren’t we all glad that we aren’t the Frankfort Hotdogs? Yup. I sure am. :)

Nana was a fighting “Rocket”, colors black and white. We did throw in red for an accent. When I graduated from Zionsville I was an eagle the colors were green and brown (I think they are now green and white).
