Her Night Light
Ferris recently found a small Gideon’s Bible we had tucked away somewhere. I’m not sure if it’s the size that appeals to her or what, but she LOVES this little Bible.
She carries it around the house and if she sees it somewhere, she repeats “Bible!” until it’s in her posession again.
I’m hoping it’s a good sign of things to come.
After all, snuggling up with God’s Word each night can only lead to obedience, right?

That is so sweet~
My now 7 year old loves his Bible time~~ He can say all 66 books of the Bible and will happily write them down as well~~ He types out Bible stories~ and tells them to you alsol~~ It thrills me to hear scripture come from the mouth of my babes~~ I know this pleases Our Heavenly Father as well~~

Oh, my. We went through that and Bear ended up wearing the poor thing out. But that is so precious. I love it that our kids love their Bibles. You know those Bible covers I made the kids for Christmas? They squealed when they saw them…they squealed! That was a happy surpise for me as I tend to be on the cynical side. You know, sort of bracing myself for when “coolness” sets in, even though I fight it at every turn. Although with Tim as a major component in their make up and me (ok, I’ll own up to un-coolness), I’m hoping that weighs heavily in their favor.
We should start a Bible-lovers Geek club.

How did you teach your 7-year-old the books of the Bible? Is it just repetition, or do you have a song? I’m not very musical, but I need a creative way to help my kids memorize this. Thanks!

I found this picture so down-deep precious and wonderful — did you know that Ferris’ great great grandpa was a Gideon. He would have LOVED this picture. I am sending a copy of it to Great Grandmommy. Love you and all your fun comments, Aunt Robin

No singing~ We actually have a photo copy of the books of the Bible on bright paper that we just keep reading~ OFTEN~
Also I copied them and put them in the shower~ They are in a 3 slotted photo album page~ One side has the Old Testament the other the New Testament~ They hang on the shower rod with hooks and when they shower I will say them along with them~
Sorry I did not get back to you sooner~ I pray this will help~ I will challenge James sometimes and we will do them starting with Revelation and go to Genesis~ That is fun~~
