Bookends
Thought I’d let you all see how my boys are growing, specifically the oldest and the youngest.
Here’s Gray, taken a month ago while vacationing at my Uncle’s lake house. He was just 3-and-a-half months old here.
My other bookend Andy. He’ll be seven in about a month — I can’t believe it! He’s growing up in so many ways! He reads like a champ, voluntarily makes sure to take good care of his younger siblings, and — like his daddy — enjoys hunting!
Because Andy has matured in so many ways, Nate has decided to make SIX be the age at which the boys can go with Daddy hunting. They don’t get to have weapons, of course. This season serves merely as a year of observation and learning how to be quiet in the woods.
To me, the idea of sitting for hours in the woods, freezing my rear off, and not talking all sound incredibly boring! Yet, I’m glad my son enjoys it! He gets so excited when Nate mentions taking him. Here he is today, all decked out in the gear his daddy bought him.
I can’t imagine that grin getting any bigger… yet I suppose it will if they ever get a deer. ![]()

Handsome Manly kind of guys~~ Hunting has been a hoot for me in my earlier years~~ Alaska was the best~~ I remember sitting so quiet once hunting whitetail that I had a doe come up to within 5 feet of me and when never knew I was there~~ Man was that a trip~~ I must say that I am not too fond of those high rise tree stands~~ Trees just blow around too much that high up~~
Have a great evening~~
When are you going to post a picture on top here~~
