Too Old, Too Smart

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Our town puts out a huge display of Christmas lights in the local park every year. You drive through it and look at an enormous quantity of lights.
Some of them are actually Christmas themed. Some are not.
Like an elephant, spraying water from its tusk. Or an Indian, shooting an arrow from a bow. Huh?!
They’re eclectic, [...]

Pie Swiper

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Tonight is our annual “Praise & Pie” service at church.
It’s one of my favorite services of the whole year… And it’s NOT about the pie. To be honest, I’m not really a huge pie fan at all. I just enjoy hearing the ways God has truly blessed those around me!
So, yesterday I made two pies. [...]

Unusual contents

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

I just switched purses. Actually, my purse is half diaper bag, half purse. That way, I only have to carry one bag.
Anyway, there were a few strange things inside, and I don’t just mean my gun license.
I also had a pair of baby socks.
Three Matchbox police cars… and a helicopter.
And a baseball. Really.
Begs the question: [...]

Hubba, Hubba… Happy Birthday!

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

We’re celebrating the birthday of my dreamboat husband, today! Wooo-Hooo!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABY!
The ingredients are ready for your birthday meatloaf, mashed potatoes and turnip / collard greens. A chocolate mayonnaise cake is in the works.
Six darling children and one smokin’ hot wife is waiting for you to return home from the airport so the festivities can [...]

Questions

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

I just posted these questions as my Facebook status:
Do you enjoy receiving family Christmas letters? Or do you find them annoying? What if they come with a photo?
I had certain plans for this year, but now I’m second guessing myself! Please help! Comment!!

Articulate

Friday, November 13th, 2009

My girl Evan, two-and-a-half, is pretty articulate for her age. She uses words like “actually” and “otherwise” often and correctly.
Yesterday, I was getting her out of the van to visit some friends and I reminded her that she might want to take her blanket in with her. She turned back to retrieve it and said, [...]

Rocky, rocky, rocky

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

My girl Ferris LOVES the rocking horse her grandfather made her. LOVES it.
She generally has a very sweet, silly temperament, unless it comes to one of two things: food and her rocking horse.
If you have food and don’t share with her, she gets wicked. If someone is on her rocking horse and she wants to [...]

Didn’t Think So

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

Is there anything in the world cuter than this?!

*happy sigh*  I love babies.

Morning Race

Friday, November 6th, 2009

I am not a morning person. I blame my Mom. I’m just not.
Yet, most mornings, I rush to get out of bed and up the stairs. Why? you ask.

My little Ferris Hope!
She’s 20 months old now and is a bundle of gorgeous curls and unlimited snuggles. She’s smart, too.
So smart, in fact, she knows my [...]

Bookends

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Thought I’d let you all see how my boys are growing, specifically the oldest and the youngest.
Here’s Gray, taken a month ago while vacationing at my Uncle’s lake house. He was just 3-and-a-half months old here.

My other bookend Andy. He’ll be seven in about a month — I can’t believe it! He’s growing up in [...]
