Not Delicious

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

My girls were fighting about something this morning. It doesn’t happen very often. Usually, they get along great.
Today, however, Ferris was particularly frustrated with Evan, so she bit her. When you’re 18 months old, that’s just how you say, “I don’t like what you’re doing and you’re just not getting it,” right?
Evan squealed and then [...]

All Boy

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

My son Andy is all boy.
Even at birth, he never got mixed up as being a baby girl. He’s always looked like a boy, and acted like a boy. We like it that way.
Today, he went to a new dentist with Nate. Until now, we’d been driving two hours to my hometown to see my [...]

Tattle-Tail

Monday, September 21st, 2009

We have our share of tattle-tails around here, just like anywhere else. We try to keep it to a minimum, but some things can’t be helped.
Today, little Grayson (who’s now three-months-old) was on the floor on a blanket. He was on his back, kicking his little legs and looking around.
Evan was excited to see he [...]

If You Need a Laugh

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

I’m never really a supporter of making fun of others.
But… These are just down-right funny! Prepare to laugh out loud!

Technical Difficulties

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

We’ve been having a bit of trouble with our internet connection around here. Sadly, that means Connor cannot play his preschool games on the computer.
Today, it particularly made him sad.
With a poochy lip, he turned to me and said, “Tell Daddy he has to put the batteries back!”

Great Aunt

Friday, September 11th, 2009

My kids have a great aunt. Actually, they have several, and I don’t mean that in the generational sense. I mean their Aunt Heather is terrific.
We got to spend some time with them at a recent family reunion and — goody for us — she brought her camera! Look what she got:

That’s my Grayson Philip, [...]

Out

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Last night, we finally broke in our huge tent and camped out in the backyard. That’s a big step away from camping on the living room floor.
Believe it or not, all eight of us made it. We all woke up in the tent this morning, with only a few episodes of confusion from the girls [...]

Wooooo-Hooooo!

Friday, September 4th, 2009

She made it!
Our tiny little peanut Evan made it to the end of her “potty train” today.
24 successes in a row!
She just started Saturday. Less than a week. I guess some good does come with experience. :) Gotta go. I’m off to Babies R Us to adopt a “boy baby.” Photos soon.
Way to go, Joy [...]

Progress is Her Middle Name

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Really, it’s Joy… but potty training Evan has been a joy!
We started on Saturday and had her special potty day. Now, just 5 days later, she’s had no accidents all day. Yesterday was pretty much the same!
I’ve always heard that potty training girls is easier than boys and so far, I believe it. She’s younger than [...]

Pinstripes and Numbers

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

As part of Brady’s first grade school work, I dictate a series of numbers to him and he has to write them down. This way, we can be sure he’s understanding place value and such.
Monday, I dictated some to him and he was mumbling something in reply. I finally figured out what he was doing. [...]
