Liquid Love
Since we’re a very baby-oriented house, my children have learned how to deal with many of the things that come along with babies. Take, for instance, spit up.
We jokingly taught Andy and Brady many years ago that babies really only spit up on the people they like. The more they “launch,” the more love they share. Liquid Love!
It’s stayed with us through the years and we still joke about it. Putting it mildly, Grayson really loves us all! (Though Andy was the grand champion. He really, REALLY loved us all… and the furniture, floor, walls, etc.)
For my kids, spit up isn’t too gross (maybe just a little,) but it’s just part of what comes along with babies.
Ferris, who’s now 17 months old, was sitting on the couch next to me and her new baby brother “Boom Boom” the other day. Grayson had just eaten and was propped up on my shoulder. You guessed it… He got her. He promptly spit up all over her leg and the couch.
Maybe she didn’t knw to be grossed out, but she just looked up at him, babbled something onle she could understand, and then gently rubbed his head.
She loves her baby brother, he must love her, and we love them both. We just don’t spit up on them to prove it.
