I wrote earlier about how we recently had Vacation Bible School at church, right? Well, with that comes lots of singing. Most of the songs were ones my children were already familiar with, but the tunes get stuck in their heads for a few weeks afterward.
Last night, Nate and I were settling down to sleep [...]

I was doing a bit of work on the computer this morning and I could hear Connor and Evan arguing about something. He came downstairs, obviously disgruntled.
Before he began to tattle, I diffused things a bit by saying, “I love you, Bo.”
His cute little reply?
“I”m not going to love anybody that is girls… but I [...]

We’re gearing up for another rite of passage here today. Today is Evan’s Special Potty Day!
We’re praying it’s successful.
We’ve got all the snacks and drinks ready. Pretty Minnie Mouse undies bought. Movies ready for the other kids to watch. Everyone’s excited.
I asked Evan last night if she was ready to say good-bye to her diapers [...]

The other day at dinner, my boys were asking Nate about becoming a police officer. The conversation progressed into a discussion about hierarchy in local government. Here’s how it went:
Brady (now 5-and-a-half): “Daddy, do you have to get sprayed with pepper spray to become and officer?”
Nate: “Yes, here you do.”
Andy (6-and-a-half): “Why? Because the Judge [...]

My kids are particular about color. They want to know the exact shade of things. I’m not sure if it’s because their Mama is somewhat of an artist, or if it’s just them.
Awhile back, Andy and Brady were discussing something that was navy blue. Brady wanted a different color, though.
Not just red. He wanted a [...]

You know how much we love baseball around here. I’ve blogged about it countless times before. (After all, it has its own category on my blog!) I love the lessons it teaches my children… about winning and losing and being good sports and taking the good with the bad and patience, etc., etc., etc.
Last night, [...]

You all can breathe easy.
Sleep well tonight, too.
Evan slathered diaper rash ointment all over the carpet in their bedroom again last night. Their floor will NEVER get diaper rash. So, relax.
After all… what better does a two-year-old have to do at half-past midnight?
By the way, anyone have tips for getting it out of carpet?!

I’m a glass-half-full kind of gal… most of the time. I try to see the good stuff that’s going on around me, and maybe learn from the bad. Just so you know that bad stuff does sometimes happen here, I’ll let you in on a few of the things that happened over the past few [...]

Evan is at that stage where she loves to “play babies.” She gets it honest though, because she most often is carrying at least two little babies dolls, or sometimes three. Reminds me of life here…
Anyway, last night, she was pushing her Little Tikes grocery cart with a baby in it. She tripped, the cart [...]

When I have graphic design projects to work on, the kids often enjoy playing kids’ games on Daddy’s computer while I work. Connor in particular likes to play (and is amazingly acclimated to the computer for only being 3!)
Yesterday, he followed me downstairs and when he saw me heading to the computer, (instead of the [...]
