Posing a Question
To all my fellow homeschooling parents out there in bloggy-land, here’s a question for you:
How long do you keep used homeschool materials/curricula after you’ve used it? I mean, how long do you need to keep it as “proof” after it’s been completed? Any ideas?
Thanks!

Since we don’t use consumables, it’s different for us. I don’t keep the papers very long at all. We actually purchase workbooks that give us the right to reproduce it. I keep it for the school year and then only after that do I save the most memorable stuff, like their best art projects and any science projects they have done. But that is only for memory sake. Our state doesn’t require anything other than proof of attendance, so I keep a record of grades or ratings for each subject (for me), and days attended (for the state). Other than that, I throw everything else away!:)

Ditto on the comment above. I hate clutter. And when we have to do worksheets, part of the motivation for my kids is being able to burn them when we’re done. We all hate the seatwork that much, and we only do it when there is no other way to really get get a good grasp on the concept. As I go along, I give away or throw away what I don’t like, and keep what I do to use with the younger kids. By the time I get to Isaac, I will finally have “the perfect” resources for each subject. I hope.

Well, I wasn’t going to say anything but I will admit to keeping papers for 40 years. They are in the garage right now and I suspect that as soon as the kids can they will be disposed of. Oh well. I must have strong sentimental value. Yes?
