Green Thumbs?
Now that we’re finally dogless, the boys and I have been talking about putting a small garden in our backyard. I grew up with one and always loved the fresh food… You just can’t beat home-grown tomatoes.
Today, I was explaining to them that we’d probably start very small this year. “Maybe a couple of tomato plants, maybe some cucumbers.”
“Can we plant watermelon or cantaloupe?” Andy asked.
“We’ll see. That sounds good, doesn’t it?” I answered.
Then brilliant three-year-old Connor said, “No, we have to plant seeds and then water them!” Guess he’s got it all figured out.
“Right,” I said. “But what kind of food do you want to grow?”
“Um, tomatoes… and POPSICLES!”
At least he didn’t call them “sock pickles” this time!
