I’ve explained before that Evan can’t wait to meet Baby G.
Tonight, she was snuggled up with me on the couch. We were all in our PJs, and she tried to lift up the mine from the bottom. I stopped her, so she tucked her head low and shouted, “You comin’ out now?!”
She can’t wait… and [...]

I’m as patriotic as they come. My favorite holiday is Independence Day… I love red, white and blue, the stars and stripes, a soldier’s salute. I’ve been known to cry at the presentation of the colors.
Memorial Day is always special, too. I come from a long line of soldiers and other “homeland servants.” I choose [...]

Aunt Heather has been at it again. As I said, we were happy to have them all visit last weekend, and even happier when Aunt Heather busted out her camera. The girl’s got skills.
Precious, isn’t she?
At 14 months, it appears as though Ferris’ curls are here to stay.

Last Friday, I had yet another baby appointment. Two-year-old Evan watched intently as I got ready to go.
Evan: “Where you goin’ Mama?”
Me: “I have another baby appointment today… to check on Baby G.”
Evan: “She* coming out now?!” she squealed, excited.
Me: “No, not yet.”
Evan: “Oh… She sayin’ ‘just a second?’”
That girl cracks me up!
*NOTE: No, we [...]

We finished our first year of homeschooling yesterday!
Actually, we started in September, and just finished TWO YEARS worth of curriculum. Crazy, huh? Andy started last fall in Kindergarten, and Brady began doing pre-school stuff. Yesterday, Andy completed first grade and Brady finished Kindergarten! What’s more is that they both got straight A’s!
We headed off to [...]

My kids were elated to spend a whole weekend with Uncle Tim, Aunt Heather and cousins Josh, Anna and Barrett. We all had so much fun, but I think my cheeks still hurt from laughing.
Uncle Tim was kind enough to play some baseball outside with the boys while Daddy was working on Saturday. One of [...]

Earlier this week, I caught Connor sneaking something out of the fridge.
I wasn’t sure what he was taking, but I had heard the door open a few times, and witnessed him chewing as he came out of the kitchen. Not wanting to over-react, I waited until I saw exactly what he was doing.
You’ll never believe [...]

You might be the daughter of a police officer if you’re stuffing your purse with Wite-Out Correction Tape and telling your big brother to leave it in there “because it’s my taser.”
Finding a husband for that girl one day is going to be tricky — just the way her Daddy wants it!

Last year, I posted about how much the average Mom’s salary should be: $117,000.
I’m happy to report that we got a raise. Check this out!
Hmmm… My responsibilities have increased over the past year. I’m now a teacher and am about to add another child to the mix. I think I’ll be in negotiations.

Now that we’re finally dogless, the boys and I have been talking about putting a small garden in our backyard. I grew up with one and always loved the fresh food… You just can’t beat home-grown tomatoes.
Today, I was explaining to them that we’d probably start very small this year. “Maybe a couple of tomato [...]
