Let me preface this story by stating the obvious. I’m conservative. That being said, I’m sure you can guess where my political lines fall… My children, however, have taken a liking to the current president. I think it’s because his name sounds cool. Oh, and Andy says, “his skin is a cool color.” I guess he’s got many cool things going for him in the six-and-under age block.

Nate and I were recently having a conversation and I mentioned San Diego. Three-year-old Connor chimed in:

Connor: “She’s my friend!”

Me, confused: “Who’s your friend?”

Connor: “Sandy Eggo.”

Me, trying not to laugh at him: “What’s her name?”

Connor, over enunciating: “Sandy… Eggo. I like her.”

Me: “Oh, I see!”

Connor, sweetly: “You know who else is my friend?”

Me: “Who?”

Connor: “You and Barack Obama!”
