Flowers from my Sweetheart

Saturday was Valentine’s Day… and this year, Nate and I actually got to go on a date! Nana was visiting, so she watched the crew while Nate and I went to our church’s Valentine Banquet. It was great fun!

We don’t generally exchange gifts on days like this. I’m much too practical. I always think of a million other things I’d rather him spend the money on than a bouquet of flowers that will die within a few days. Sad, I know.

This year, however, he got me something flowery that I hope lasts a long time:

My old cell phone had been acting sort of funny and the sound quality was deteriorating. It was really sounding tinny. I’d had it long enough that I qualified for all sorts of upgrades, so I got this one. Isn’t it pretty and purple? ;)

He’s a dreamboat, that man of mine. I’ll keep him forever.

I bet that does all kinds of fancy things. I can’t even enter a new number on mine. I have the grands do it for me. Talk about sad. BTW, purple is one of my favorite colors.

Now that is my kind of Valentine’s day present!! I am with you on the flowers. They’re really nice, but I’d rather have something that will last. Now you have to learn how to use it!!!!

That is one beautiful phone ~ I love purple! Makes me want to bite the bullet and get a cell. Almost. ;)

Sherri, I wasn’t crazy about getting a cell phone for awhile but when Nate’s working the streets, he definitely has to have one. It has come in handy numerous times with car trouble for me, too… Once, we were at the mall and Nate chased down a shoplifter and was holding the person to the ground, so I had to call the police on it. After that, I’ve been thankful to always have it with me!
