Two years ago yesterday, on January 18, 2007, Evan Joy entered our family two months early.

She weighed just two pounds and 12 ounces. She had two concerned parents and a team of doctors.

Yesterday, she proudly announced to everyone at church, “I two!” Our Pastor even acknowedged the miracle of her birthday from the pulpit as he discussed Sanctity of Human Life Sunday.

She’s been a crazy girl since the day she was born! We’ve so enjoyed watching her reach milestone after milestone and defy the word “preemie.” She keeps up with her brothers and adores her baby sister, who just happens to weigh the same as Evan. At two, Evan weighs about 20 pounds! (In contrast, Andy was a hefty baby and weighed 26 pounds at just one year!)

We love you, Joy Joy! We’re so glad you’re ours! And as you sang to yourself all day yesterday, “Happy Derday!!”
