THE logic puzzle to end all logic puzzles…

This post is mainly for the grandparents and other family members, all of whom live at least two hours from us. They all want the “master list” of Brady’s newly diagnosed allergies.

I appreciate their concern, but also wish them well in deciphering it all. Finding anything at the store that does not contain one of the top ten is like one of those old logic puzzles (If Sally is ten inches taller than her sister Samantha, and Samantha’s Aunt Sue is shorter by 17 inches, who will reach their destination first if slope is -.08?)

Here you go:

  1. Wheat
  2. Gluten
  3. Soy
  4. Walnuts
  5. Lima beans
  6. Malt
  7. Rye
  8. Peanut
  9. Barley
  10. Cashew
  11. Yeast (Brewer’s)
  12. Yeast (Baker’s)
  13. Egg (Yolk)
  14. Egg (White)
  15. Garlic
  16. Watermelon
  17. Sesame
  18. Corn
  19. Peas
  20. Coconut
  21. Canteloupe
  22. Oats
  23. Grapes
  24. Tomatoes
  25. Mustard
  26. Safflower
  27. Lemon
  28. Cucumber

Now, take a deep breath.

If the walnut brownies contain gluten and egg, but no soy, will he have a reaction to lima beans on a bus heading north on the southbound lane? ;)

you might be better off writing a list of things he CAN have!!! wow, that is pretty crazy. what does your grocery list look like right now?

So. Ya’ll ready to low carb? Spend some time at Dr. Eades site, http://www.proteinpower.com/ and the only thing on that list that will be troubling are the eggs.

Low carbing is good for the whole family, especially the littlest ones and the biggest ones.

We buy beef by the side directly from the farmer (www.eatwild.com) and it is pretty reasonably priced.

Oh, wow! How overwhelming! I’ll be praying for you, and your hubby, as you sort through all the new information and start down a new path. May He help you make the transition as seamless as possible.

    Blessings~

Stacey, my grocery list right now looks pretty much like this: rice, potatoes, bananas… chicken… beef. Sad, huh?

Join the ranks of people with children with BAD allergies! I know for sure that Christopher is allergic to peanuts (one of the worst allergies in my opinion.) He is going to go to an allergist in Munster. He is the only allergist my insurance covers and I just found him today!! Good luck in planning safe meals! (Talk to Matt, he was allergic to everything too!! He got allergy shots two or three times a week.)
