Snow Days
There’s a joke here in Indiana: “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.”
Sad, but true.
This week, we’ve been dumped on by Hurricane Ike. We live clear up by Chicago, but we’ve received tons of rain. So much rain, in fact, that school is cancelled for tomorrow.
The streets are impassable and cars are stalling in the gargantuan puddles. No school! Except around here.
I’ve already discovered this little blessing of homeschooling. We don’t have to do what everyone else does!
We can do school in our pajamas. We can start at 10 a.m. We can have school when everyone else cancels!
Why? Because I’d rather save my snow days for when it’s 85 degrees in May.
Or when the Cubs go to the World Series in October.
