Entertaining Letters

Brady has this infectious giggle that is so funny it makes people laugh just to hear it.

Yesterday, I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast. The boys were so eager to eat them that they each had a plate out and were practically prancing around the oven while they baked.

Andy had somehow snagged the “You’re Special” plate I use for birthdays. He was looking at the letters and asked, “Mommy, what does s-p-e-c-i… what’s that letter?!”

It was an a like this

and not like this.

“Oh, that’s just a funny ‘A,’” I said.

Brady pulled Andy’s plated down and said, “I want to see the funny ‘A.’”

Andy pointed out the letter and Brady unleashed that crazy giggle. He was laughing so hard you would have thought that “funny A” was the funniest joke he’d ever heard. And it made Andy crack up, too . . . which made me start laughing. I couldn’t even explain that wasn’t the kind of funny I meant. Oh, well.

Silly ‘A!’
