Vocabulary Victory
My kids crack me up with some of the words they pick up on… No, not those kinds of words, but “big”words for their ages.
Brady (age three) appropriately uses “actually” and “hideous.” OK, so sometimes he uses the latter too much, as in:
“Ew! Evan has graham crackers all over her face. Don’t look at her, she’s hideous!”
Even so, he amazes me.
Just last week, Connor (now two) climbed up on our bed and said, “Mommy, watch this!”
He proceeded to make one big jump and spin around at the same time. Once he landed, he opened his eyes really big and said, “AMAZING, isn’t it?!”
Yup, my kids are amazing.

Well you know where that comes from right? Yes, Uncle Chad. No, no really, he was just two when we were shopping in a “Dime store”, yes, he’s that old. Anyway a lady asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?” We expected the usual, cowboy, ball player, etc. But no, he looks right at the lady and says “Um, I wanna be a conservationalist.”
Wow, where did that come from? Then I remembered Sesame Street had been talking about trees and conservationalists.
So I guess it runs in the family, huh?
