Why are you so…?

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

For a long time, I’ve had the (probably bad) habit of telling my boys, “You’re so handsome.” It’s not a problem yet, but maybe they’ll get big heads for awhile later before they realize I’m just Mom. At any rate, I decided it’s better to ask them why they’re so handsome. Then I’ve “trained” [...]

Easy cookies

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

My kids have been on this baking kick lately – perhaps because we’ve been cooped up for a week and a half? Anyway, earlier today, I found an easy recipe that simply allowed us to add our own extras. Great, huh? Here’s the recipe for anyone interested:

COLONIAL EASY COOKIES

1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. flour
1 tsp. [...]

Excuse me?!

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

Part of Andy’s post-op procedures includes using alcohol wipes to sterilize various tubes he has coming out of him. (He’s supposed to have them all removed in two days!! PRAISE THE LORD!)
Tonight, Nate was helping clean a part of the tubing and he asked Andy to get him a wipe. The stack I’ve had on [...]

WFMW: Lovey back-up / replacement

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

When my oldest son, Andy, was a baby, he was a messy eater (or I was a messy nurser!). We had to use a burp cloth every time he ate… So, it wasn’t long before he became very attached to them. We soon realized that they were a comfort to him. Nothing could calm him [...]

One of those days

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

Yesterday was one of those days… You know the kind. The kind that makes you question every parenting “technique” you’ve ever used. The kind that has you considering parenting techniques you’ve said you’d never use.
The results of having four under four cooped up for a week were rearing their ugly heads. There was bickering. Fussiness. [...]

Deep Thoughts, by Brady, #2

Monday, October 8th, 2007

I have posted before about how Brady is my curious boy. He often tries to take things apart just to see how they work, but his brain is always thinking. Last night, he turned to me and asked, “Mommy, why do people have to wear underwear?”
Now, I’m sure many of you have come up with [...]

The Mom Song

Monday, October 8th, 2007

I’ve received this link a few times now, but if you haven’t here it is. This is called “The Mom Song,” by Anita Renfroe.
She uses the William Tell Overture to condense all the things a Mom says in a 24-hour period into less than 3 minutes. Priceless! It’s absolutely hilarious.
Check it out here.

I have no real comment on tonight’s game.
Here’s a good link… be sure to read the very last question & answer.

A Clue, a Clue!

Friday, October 5th, 2007

As I said in my previous post, little Connor Stephen turns two today. He’s getting more excited as the day wears on. He’s wearing his new “p-days” (P.J.’s) from Aunt Sandy… (I know it’s after 3 p.m., but you only turn two once. Live it up!) See the photo above. If you look closely, you [...]

Happy Birthday, Bo!

Friday, October 5th, 2007

My littlest guy is TWO today. He’s not very thrilled about turning two, mostly because he can’t get his little fingers to hold up just two. But, he hasn’t received his birthday gifts from us yet… or the Blue’s Clues birthday cake I’m about to ice for him. Maybe then he’ll enjoy the day a [...]
