I took computer programming in high school. (Save the nerd comments, thank you.) I know what an infinite loop is. I’m sure most of you do, too, with or without programming. For those of you who do not know, let me submit this example of a conversation Connor and I keep having.

Connor: “Hey, Mom… Guess what.”

Me: “What?”

Connor: “I tell you somepin’.”

Me: “OK, tell me something.”

Connor: “Um… Guess what.”

Me: “What?”

Connor: “I tell you somepin’.”

Me: “OK, tell me something.”

Connor:“Ummm… Guess what.”

And so it goes… Over and over again. Several times a day, for the last week or so. Get it now?!

I’m sure in his tw0-year-old mind, he’s just ecstatic to have my undivided attention. And when he gets it, he realizes he doesn’t have anything profound to say. I’ll just wait. One day, he’ll say something brilliant that will change the world. I want to be listening then.
