Creativity Drain

Monday, September 17th, 2007

Is it possible to drain all the creativity from your body in one day? If so, I think I did it. I started and finished three big graphic design projects today.
Of course, my house is still a wreck, but there’s no real deadline on that, right?

Twice Blessed

Monday, September 17th, 2007

This weekend, our family received two big blessings, both of which were unexpected. The first was a call from our sister-in-law Heather. She and Nate’s brother Tim and the kids were willing to sacrifice their Saturday to come up and help us with the big room switch. Heather even finished painting more than half of [...]

2 - 1 + 2 = too many

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

My husband left bright and early this morning to go teach some guys how to fly helicopters. This happens nearly every morning. But somehow, before I woke up, I ended up with two new “guys” in my bed… Andy and Brady. And they like to sleep right next to you. I had to slither out [...]

Memo to Me, in 2009

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Dear Me of the Future,
The next time you decide to paint, remember that preschoolers and/or toddlers will want to help. This is not advised. Be advised that they do not understand how to dip just the tip of the paintbrush in the paint and will, instead, drip a big long trail of paint all down the [...]

The Reaction

Friday, September 14th, 2007

A friend of ours from church, Mrs. Grant, wrote a comment of my previous post and wondered how the kids took the news of another baby entering our family. It went something like this.
I told the boys I had been to see our “baby doctor” (midwife). They asked why. I told them I had another [...]

Drumroll, please!

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

I recently said I had a big announcement to make… so for all of you far off friends, here it is: We’re expecting again! YIPPEE!!
As many of you know, we absolutely love children and want lots, so we are thrilled. The baby is due in the middle of March. So far, everything looks great. I [...]

A Little Too Late

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

So, we have officially decided to make the switch. We’re relinquishing the big bedroom to the kids and taking the smaller one for ourselves. Their former bedroom had a really cool Nemo underwater mural on all four walls that my brother painted for them. So, I’ve been painting this week. (We just couldn’t sleep with Nemo [...]

Expecting Great Things

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Just a head’s up to let people know that things will soon look different here.  I’ve been working on a new design, so be patient, but look for that soon.
Also, a big announcement will hit this page soon. Is the anticipation killing you?!

The Sweetest Big Brother in the World

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Before Evan ever came home from the hospital, I had lots of talks with the boys about what it meant to be a big brother to a little sister. (And since she was in the hospital for 29 days, we had plenty of time to talk.) They quickly learned that “protect” for them would mean [...]

WFMW: Easy “Labels” for Kids’ Cups

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Once again, my Works for Me Wednesday tip this week is not about to revolutionize the world, but it may make things a bit easier for moms out there like me.
Recently, a friend of our family and a fellow pilot’s wife, Mrs. Kaiser, gave my three sons helicopter sport bottles. The boys, of course, loved [...]
