You might be a graphic design nerd if…
We’re considering switching rooms with the kids. There are many reasons for this idea, but I won’t go into those now.
We currently live in a two bedroom house, but we do have a full basement. Considering all four of our kids (and me!) have been hospitalized for one reason or another over the past few years, we have no extra cash to remodel the basement, or really, to even move. So, here we sit. A policeman’s salary and medical bills barely break even most months. Go figure!
Because I’m a graphic design nerd, I measured all the furniture and the walls and doorways and came up with this chart (click on it below):
This is what the kids furniture would look like in our (current) larger bedroom. (There are two oddly placed closets that would house their church clothes, the toy box, and a changing table that I use for a shelf.)
I’m hoping my OCD prior planning will save me hours of rearranging and some exhaustion should we decide to actually do this. Anyone have any more efficient ways for considering something of this magnitude?

Hey, I think it’s brilliant. As you know, we decided to switch and I already have the bigger bedroom planned out so it can accomodate 7 little ones. Let me know when you want to make the big move! I’m there!
P.S. I LOVE the “graphic art nerd” who is my “sister”. She’s soooo smart.

Not a designer, but I think I can do this! It’s just what I need–I keep rearranging the nursery and it’s just not turning out right. My husband has refused to move the ginormous armoire one more time until I’m sure where I want it! Thanks for the idea! Found you through a comment on Rocks in my Dryer.
