When you live in a house with three little boys less than 3 years apart, things can get confusing. I used to hate doing laundry because sock sorting was a nightmare. Then Hanes saved the day with their EZ Sort Socks.
Each size has a different color logo embroidered into the bottom! BRILLIANT! They have them in sizes for little boys and for babies! So, 4-year-old Andy’s are green logos (on grey bottoms, which is also brilliant for showing less dirt!), 3-year-old Brady wears red logos, and 1-and-a-half year old Connor’s Hanes logos are blue. (PLUS, 29-year-old Daddy Nate has black logos on his and I have some that have pink logos.)
I am seriously forever indebted to Hanes for this reason alone! They have saved me hours. I love these socks so much that I would offer up my array of tiny kids feet to do a commercial for them. How ‘bout it Hanes?!

Great product. I detest matching socks. I buy hubby a new set of socks every so often - all the same kind.
Thanks for the tip.
Holy smokes, this sounds just great! I wonder if they do it on the girls’ socks too? I’m gonna have to check this out next time I’m shopping, for sure!
Wow, this is great! I’ve never seen that and I buy a LOT of socks.
I have three boys as well. Long ago I decided to separate and organize them by style. My oldest and youngest get socks with white bottoms or grey heels only. My middle son has solid grey bottoms. It sometimes takes a bit of shopping to find the right style of socks for the right size but it’s been a HUGE life saver.
Thanks for the great tip.
My mom bought my kids (all 3 were born in less than 3 years like yours)…socks that have a gold line across the toe (like the gold toe brand)… and 3 strips means large, 2 is medium and 1 is small. That is how I keep track of the sock battle.

Ooo! I’m not going to run out and buy new socks but it gave me an idea. I could use my fabric markers to put each family member’s initials on the bottoms. Honey and I just got identical looking running socks and I really despise sorting them.
Here’s another idea to go along with T with Honey’s marking idea. I sent her this e-mail:
Oh, wait! I have heard a tip from other moms of many! Here it is. If you plan to pass something down (i.e. socks — if they last that long,) label them with dots instead of initials. For example: Your oldest would get one tiny marker dot on the bottoms. When those get passed down, add a second dot to denote your next child. When child #3 gets them, add a third dot and so on! That way, no one ends up wearing someone else’s initials. Plus, dots seem much less obtrusive. Hope that helps!
Now that’s a great idea! Happy sock sorting…
I use all the same socks for the boys.
And the girls help sorting.
WOW!! I pull my hair out over socks with just two boys! This is great! I’m going out to buy some Hanes socks tomorrow!
Do you have any suggestions for the sock eating monster that lives in our dryer???
[...] 5. Hanes I’ve previously posted about this, so I’ll just give you the link here. [...]
Quick someone get ahold of Hanes. I am surprised at the number of responses you got with this helpful hint. I’m sure Hanes loves the plug.
