It happened again…

We took a family trip to Meijer today to do some grocery shopping. It had to be done and it’s one way to get the kids out of the house for a bit and get something checked off of our endless to-do list. (You know I’m all about the multi-tasking.)

As we’re leaving, we’re walking across the parking lot. Andy and Brady are staying very close to the cart (my rule), Connor was in the cart’s seat and Nate was carrying Evan. A guy, pushing his own cart, loudly says, “You guys need more kids!”

Nate grins, I smile and then I said, “We plan on it!”

THEN, the guy says, “You guys need to find a new hobby!” Keep in mind that he’s shouting this as we load our kids into our 12-passenger van.

I’m about to rant:

Why do people think this is funny to say?

Why does it concern other people with the number of children I have? I’m not asking for their help.

Were their own children so awful that they view all children as an inconvenience?!

I know I’ve written about this topic before. It just irks me when people not only view children as a burden, but also when they feel the need to share that … in front of my children. UGH!

I’ll hush up now.
