Here in Indiana, people often say, “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.” I just mowed the lawn for 45 minutes (I didn’t finish) and it never got cooler. It’s a humid 90 degrees today. And since we live just outside of Chicago, that’s HOT. We’re used to, as Oprah says, 9 months of winter.

Generally, however, that saying is true. Earlier this spring, we had the furnace on in the morning and by mid-afternoon we had the A/C on. Only in Indiana.

At least our sweet corn is good.
