Birth Order & Courage?

Does anyone know anything about the whole birth order thing and how that translates into personality traits? Our oldest, Andy, has always been thoughtful, cautious and somewhat of a perfectionist. Also a bit pensive. Our second son Brady, however, could rival Evil Canevil. Brayden (his full first name) means “brave.” So true. This is the boy that begs to go to work with Daddy to go “policing” and “fight the bad guys.” He’s boy in every way and will try anything more than once.

So… last night I was working on some graphic design projects and the boys were playing a Little Bear game on their computer. Our computers are currently located in our unfinished basement. I got up to go upstairs.

Andy: “Mommy, no! Wait. You can’t leave us down here!”

Me: “You’re okay, buddy. Just finish your game and then you guys can come up.”

Andy: “But we need an ‘dult.” (Asking for an adult is one of his ways of revealing he’s scared.)

Brady: “Don’t worry, Andy. I’ll protect you. I’m strong. I’ll fight the bad guys.”

And so they finished their game and came upstairs later. :D

So, I ask you, are all second children braver?  Cause both my husband and I are second children. ;)

I don’t know really. I think I’m the more pensive and adventurous one in our family. Maybe it’s different for every family.

Site’s looking good! It’s different from the time I looked at it earlier today. A woman after my own heart; no site is ever finished. :-)
