Savoring the Moment

In twenty years, will my now 21-month old son still want to give me giant hugs and sloppy kisses and tell me, “I ove you, Momma, fo effa and effa??” This is the same cuddly little guy who tells me without prompting (now) that I’m “go-gus.” (That’s gorgeuous, for all you who don’t have toddlers.)

Connor is so sweet that he often follows me around the house carrying his blanket (his “beezit”) and mumbles, “Bo, Bo, Mamma. Bo, Bo.” Bo is my pet name for him and that’s his way of asking for special time. And look at him, how could I resist?

As much as I’d love to keep him in this snuggly stage forever (or fo effa, as he would say), I also can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for his life. So… I suppose I’ll let him turn two.

But not until October.

Connor still has the sweetest, most innocent smile and such a tender heart. My prayer is the he retains those qualities as he grows, though we all know the innocence will probably fade, like all of his gender. He is the male Schrock that still gives Nana hugs and kisses even when I’m not leaving. Thanks little Bo Bo. I ‘ove you too.
